SABC purges senior managers
All senior managers in the procurement division of the SABC have been served with letters of intention to suspend them, according to a report in the City Press.
The reason for the imminent suspensions is linked to the broadcaster’s procurement of a R42.3-million studio for the recent Rugby World Cup.
The report states that the managers are being targeted after they refused to sign off on a number of payments due to “procedural irregularities”.
The SABC did not respond to questions from the City Press.
News of the managerial suspensions follows SABC group CEO Frans Matlala’s suspension after being on the job for 4 months.
The full report is available in the City Press – 22 November 2015 edition.
