This is why OntapTV was down today
OntapTV, the video on demand service from PCCW Global which launched in South Africa during September 2015, experienced an outage earlier today (17 February).
“We had a temporary service issue that has resulted in intermittent cases of the site being inaccessible,” OntapTV told MyBroadband.
Its service was fully restored in the afternoon.
“This is the first such case, and we are investigating the matter thoroughly to ensure that there is no repeat of this,” OntapTV said.
The company explained that it had a problem with one of its servers that only impacted accessibility in some cases.
“We moved quickly across to our back-up systems,” it said. “Naturally we’re doing a post-mortem.”
