Personalised streaming news added to Plex

Plex has integrated personalised, streaming news into its media player software.

The move follows its acquisition of Watchup, an online video news aggregator that collects content from the likes of Sky News, CNN, and Vox.

The new Plex News feed will let you add content from over 190 global publisher partners, including international sources such as CBS, Financial Times, and Euronews.

News for Plex will roll out to everyone over the next 48 hours, starting with Plex Pass subscribers, and is currently supported on Android TV, Nvidia Shield, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku, Android Mobile, and iOS.

Plex CEO Keith Valory said Plex is moving away from being a pure media server where you supply your own content, to a media streaming service.
