DStv website hit by outage

The DStv website was hit by an outage on Thursday, 11 June 2026, hours before the FIFA World Cup was scheduled to kick off with a match between Bafana Bafana and Mexico in Mexico City.

Attempting to access the website where people can sign up and manage their subscription results in an HTTP 503 Service Unavailable server error.

“The FunctionGraph occurred an error: there might be function syntax errors, no associated functions, etc… We can’t connect to the server for this app or website at this time,” it stated.

“There might be too much traffic or a configuration error. Try again later, or contact the app or website owner.”

Outage tracker Downdetector showed that people were reporting problems with DStv since before 17:45 on Thursday evening.

MyBroadband’s testing indicated that the main website loaded intermittently, but attempting to log in and access account information resulted in the error message.

DStv’s streaming service appeared unaffected by the outage. Subscribers could access the DStv.stream website and apps, and the SuperSport PSL channel (DStv 202) could be streamed.

“We are aware that some customers are currently experiencing difficulties accessing DStv.com and our WhatsApp self-service platform,” the broadcaster stated.

DStv said its technical teams were investigating the issue as a priority and were working to restore full functionality as quickly as possible.

“There are no issues affecting DStv Stream, and existing customers can continue to access the service as normal by visiting https://dstv.stream/”
