New DStv services on the cards

DStv HD

MultiChoice told subscribers after downtime on Monday morning (25 February 2013) that it has added a new transponder to its DStv platform to accommodate future services.

“This process was intended to happen seamlessly without any customer interference,” a MultiChoice spokesperson explained when asked about the downtime caused by the upgrade.

“Unfortunately some of the decoders didn’t automatically acquire the new transponder.”

The issue has since been addressed, MultiChoice said, and subscribers should be able to continue enjoying their viewing.

MultiChoice declined to provide any details about the transponder that was added, including which new services it has on the cards.
