Facebook acquires Source3

Facebook has acquired content rights management startup Source3 in a bid to help creators monetise their content.

Source3 said it is excited to work with Facebook. The startup’s technology allows it to recognise intellectual property in user-generated content, allowing creators to take action against copyright infringements.

Speaking to ReCode, Facebook said it will work with Source3 to better serve its partners.

“We’re excited to work with the Source3 team and learn from the expertise they’ve built in intellectual property, trademarks, and copyright,” it said.
