MTN network outage

MTN today experienced a network outage which affected voice and messaging services in various areas in Gauteng, including Randburg, Sandton and Roodepoort.

According to unconfirmed feedback the network problems affected all MTN subscribers in these areas, but did not have an influence on 3G data services.

MTN said that they are currently busy restoring services in these areas, but warned that it may take some time considering the number of subscribers on their network.
