Altech planning to sell Autopage subscribers

Altron has advised that it is in an advanced stage of negotiations regarding the potential disposal of Altech Autopage’s GSM subscriber bases.

Altech is a third party mobile services provider, and parent company Altron said its decision to dispose of these subscriber bases has been based on, among other things, the impacts of the the on-going Mobile Termination Rate reductions, as well as continued industry and consumer deflationary pressures.

“Accordingly this business has been classified as a discontinued operation for purposes of the company’s 2015 annual financial statements,” Altron said.

The JSE-listed Altron said in October that it aimed to reposition Altech Autopage to offer increased ISP services targeted at enterprise clients.
