Vodacom network outage in Gauteng
Vodacom subscribers in Gauteng reported problems on the network on 24 June, saying that they were unable to use voice and data services.
Subscribers in Midrand, Randburg, Fourways, and Sandton said they experienced issues until around 14:15, when services started coming back online.
A spokesperson for Vodacom said the outages seemed to have been caused by equipment failure at a facility in Midrand.
Intermittent loss of voice, data, and SMS services throughout certain areas in Gauteng followed.
Vodacom said the network equipment failed at around 13:30, and engineers were able to find and isolate the problem in around 30 minutes.
Services are starting to come back online, and should return to normal.
