Telkom has integrated carrier billing for the Google Play store on Android smartphones and tablets.
Direct carrier billing is made possible through the integration of Telkom’s event billing service with the Bango Payments Platform, and lets Android smart device users pay for applications and content using Telkom airtime.
You can also make in-app purchases without interruption to the app experience.
To make secure purchases and payments, Telkom said subscribers must:
- Have a Telkom mobile SIM card in an Android device that is connected to Telkom’s mobile network.
- Open the Google Play Store, choose a book, app, or game to buy, and select Enable Telkom Billing as a payment method.
- Confirm that this is the app, book, or game that you want to buy.
Telkom said there is a double opt-in process, so customers are aware that they are purchasing an app or a game and will be billed for it.
Details of each transaction will be itemised on customers’ invoices.
