iPhone 4 here on Tuesday night
MTN today announced that the Apple iPhone 4 will be available from selected MTN-branded stores around South Africa from midnight on Tuesday night (see table below). The new iPhone 4 will be rolled out to more than 250 MTN outlets nationwide by mid-October.
“With MTN investing billions of Rands in network upgrades over the past two years, the Apple iPhone 4 and other smartphone users can rest safe in the knowledge that the network can handle the high-intensity data requirements thrown at it,” said MTN Chief Marketing Officer Serame Taukobong.
MTN is however not the only company set to launch the iPhone on Tuesday night. Vodacom has already informed consumers and the media of their plans to launch the device on Tuesday night.
It is understood that Apple has set strict guidelines for operators which prevents them from launching the iPhone 4 before 00:00 on 22 September.
