Telkom vs Cell C in huge-value shared data plan showdown
Telkom recently launched new FreeMe Family products, allowing subscribers to divide included data, voice minutes, and an SMS allocation between up to 10 SIMs.
This allows families to consolidate their cellphone spending into a single account, with 30GB, 50GB, or Unlimited options available.
FreeMe Family packages include data, voice minutes, SMS, Wi-Fi usage, and free WhatsApp usage.
The deals were barely two days old when Cell C launched its version of a shared data plan, SmartData Share.
The three Cell C packages come in at 5GB, 20GB, and 50GB each, with all data allocations doubled as part of a launch promotion.
The SmartData Share products will be available in March and April, and also provide customers with Wi-Fi calling minutes.
Data and calling minutes can be shared through Cell C’s Multi-Data Connect service, said the company.
