Major MTN network upgrade for Durban
MTN has rolled out a “major network upgrade” in the greater eThekwini area over the last 18 months, the company announced.
MTN said its infrastructure sharing agreement with eThekwini disaster management and emergency control unit with regards to utilising its camera poles is continuing.
“The aim is to alleviate the need for more structures in close proximity to one another, which then becomes unsightly,” said Giovanni Chiarelli, Chief Technology and Information Officer at MTN SA.
The city and MTN stated that the poles will contain MTN’s infrastructure and CCTV cameras.
