Major MTN network upgrade for Durban

LTE-A on MTN is very patchy for me. Only saw 4G+ on key points like underground Gautrain stations and one or two malls nothing widespread yet.

Vodacom on the other hand has pretty decent 4G+ coverage and you can expect it is most of JHB and Centurion.

They made a deal with Durban municipality to blanket the city in security cameras & wifi. Those in charge decided to neglect to tell the public that these towers will also carry MTN antennaes.

Interestingly after the ****storm hit regarding no public consultation they removed the MTN branding from the equipment and replaced it with Durban Municipality branding.

And so far we have not been informed what tech they will be installing - there are a lot of these towers in my area.
