How much MTN subscribers spend
MTN has released its quarterly update for the period ended 30 September 2017.
The company said its group subscriber numbers dropped by 0.7% quarter-on-quarter to 230.2 million. This was due to lower reported subscribers in Nigeria.
In South Africa, subscriber numbers decreased by 1.0% to 30.9 million. This was made up of a 1.3% decline in the prepaid segment, while postpaid subscriber numbers were stable.
MTN has also released its ARPU (average revenue per user) figures for the quarter, which show how much South African subscribers spend in rand.
