Vodacom holiday data deals
Vodacom today punted their three holiday data deals, which includes their 20GB for R499 promotion and their ‘first 3 months free’ special to new contract customers.
The three deals available to consumers are:
- Customers signing any new 24 month data contract will receive the first three months’ subscription free;
- Broadband Standard MyMeg 500 24-month contracts signed in December 2011 will be available for R99 per month;
- Vodacom gives 20GB (+ 20GB after hours data) for R499 to contract subscribers at an effective rate of 1.2c per MB.
Chris Ross, managing executive for commercial development at Vodacom said, “Over the festive season most people have increased expenses with holidays and gifts. So we’ve come up with these value offers which will put money back in the pockets of our customers.”
The MyGig 20 once-off bundle for R499 which provides a saving of 86%, is now available until 9 January 2012 on both Broadband Standard and Broadband Advanced for all contract customers.
“With an additional 20GB of Night Owl data automatically included, Vodacom contract subscribers get an effective 40GB of data for only R499,” said Ross.
Vodacom 20GB Mofaya deal
The ‘first three months subscription free’ promotion for contract and Top Up customers will include all Broadband Standard and Broadband Advanced contract options. This promotion is now effective and will continue until 6 February 2012.
The Broadband Standard MyMeg 500 contract at R99 per month promotion for new contracts signed in December is immediately available and will run until 9 January 2012.
With an automatic additional 500MB of Night Owl data included, Vodacom subscribers get an effective 1GB of data for only R99.
The normal price of the Broadband Standard MyMeg 500 is R149 a month, giving customers a 33% discount.
Vodacom however highlighted that the Broadband Standard MyMeg 500 promotion will not qualify for the 3 months free subscription promotion.
MTN S505
Meanwhile MTN is promoting their sub-R100 mobile phones. “MTN is addressing the need for affordable communications by offering South Africans the opportunity to own a cellphone for under R100,” MTN said.
“Right now, the cheapest prepaid MTN cellphone, the MTN S50S, retails for a mere R79 at PEP stores nationwide. The MTN S50S offers basic voice and data functions.”
