Teraco has completed the construction of its JB2-Bredell data centre, which is the first hyperscale data centre in Africa.
The Bredell Hyperscale Data Centre Facility features over 6,000m² of technical deployment space, making it the largest operating commercial data centre in Africa.
Teraco Head of Infrastucture Development Gys Geyser said the build was completed in record time and includes various improvements thanks to its enhanced design.
“We were able to double the power and cooling capacity, using similar mission-critical footprints gained from previous deployments,” he said.
The data centre is the fourth facility built by Teraco, which also has centres in Cape Town, Durban, and Isando, Johannesburg.
“Bredell is another incredible achievement and we are excited to welcome our first tenant this month,” said Teraco.
