Native Apple Watch apps now possible
Apple has revealed a new version of its WatchOS, the software that powers its Apple Watch.
Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed that WatchOS would now support native apps – confirming rumours leading up to Apple’s 2015 World Wide Developer Conference on 8 June 2015.
Previously, Apple Watch could only provide an interface to apps that were running on an iPhone it was linked to.
The new version of WatchOS is available to developers immediately, said Cook.
