USB Killer V3 released

USB Kill has introduced its latest ESD tester, the USB Kill V3.

The new USB killer is available as a plain black Anonymous Edition or a White Classic edition.

The V3 features:

• Higher voltage output.
• Higher amp output.
• Faster pulse rate.
• Hardened micro controller for additional stability.
• LED charge indicator.

“The new anonymous version is designed to fulfil the requests of pentesters and police/government users,” said the company.

“Penetration testers, security auditors, and hardware developers will find the USB Kill V3 invaluable in their toolkit.”

It said tests have shown that 95% of USB-equipped consumer devices are permanently or partially damaged by a USB power surge attack, and manufacturers need to do more to protect their equipment.
