Space age computer workstation, at R200,000
Modern Work Environment Lab (MWE Lab) announced in February 2013 its latest computer workstation, called the Emperor 1510 LX. Priced at $21,500 (R209,000), it is seen as a gadget for rich people who already have everything.
The Emperor 1510 LX is an upgrade of the standard Emperor 1510 workstation, priced at $5,950.
The new Emperor 1510 LX offers a touchscreen interface along with a working area of up to a 5-monitor configuration. It also sports a Bose sound system and a reclining seat.
The Emperor 1510 LX is not available yet, but the company has opened up pre-orders for their latest workstation.
If you think it is crazy to spend R200,000 on a computer workstation, you may be surprised to learn that this is not the most expensive product in MWE Lab’s workstation range.
The company’s flagship Emperor 200, which is punted as the most advanced work environment on the market today, costs $49,150 (R479,000).
The Emperor 200 features a touch screen control center, air filtering system, light therapy, an electric powered leather seat, up to three 27-inch LED screens, and excellent sound.
Unfortunately there are no official retailers for the MWE Lab’s workstations in South Africa.
