iPhone 5S tech, launch date rumours heating up

iPhone 5

A new iPhone is inevitable – but just what sort of iPhone that will be remains to be seen. According to a report on Business Insider, which rounds up the various rumours and info leaks from around the web, the next Apple device off the line could be the iPhone 5S, and it’s expected as early as August, but September 2013 seems more likely.

According to Business Insider, the rumours say that:

  • The iPhone 5S will look just like the iPhone 5.
  • It will have redesigned internals.
    • This includes a rumoured A7 processor (Apple next-gen mobile CPU).
    • A new battery will boast a longer life between charges.
  • The camera will also be improved, with the possibility of a dual-LED flash.
  • Apple may integrate some sort of finger-print scanning or biometric tech into the phone, a rumour based on its acquisition of Athentec, a biometric tech company.
  • On a side note, the next version of the iPad (iPad 5) is rumoured for April 2014 (also boasting an A7 processor).
