New Android-based Hisense TVs for SA at CES 2014
Hisense announced in a press release dated Monday, 6 January 2013, that it is launching its new range of televisions to retailers from South Africa at the International CES 2014 show.
New features include a facility that allows TV service without a set-up box and access to global cloud-based content, Hisense said.
The range of new TVs will be debuted at CES in Las Vegas and will launch in South Africa in mid–2014.
According to Hisense, the TVs will feature multi screen capabilities, an integrated media centre, and access to content from live channels that include video-on-demand and catch-up TV.
They also include an array of applications, including gaming, without the need for a set top box; and will provide local access to global content, Hisense said.
Hisense said that the TVs will use an interface designed by its sister organisation, Jamdeo. According to the Jamdeo website its platform is Android-based.
The TVs will also incorporate cloud connectivity and multiscreen content management services from Vidmind, Hisense said.
