System Shock 3 has coaxed Warren Spector out of his life of academia to join the team at Otherside Entertainment working on the game, Ars Technica reported.
Spector, who worked on games like Deus Ex and Thief, joins the team as studio director after serving briefly as a creative advisor.
He joins studio founder Paul Neurath who he worked with at Looking Glass on games like Thief and Ultima Underworld.
In addition to System Shock 3, Otherside Entertainment is also working on a spiritual successor to Ultima Underworld called Ultima Ascension.
