Fake DVD arrests
Nine people have been arrested for the production of counterfeit DVDs worth R160,000 in Eersterust, Pretoria east, Gauteng police said on Sunday.
Four of the people were arrested at a house on Woodstock Street at around 1pm on Saturday, said Captain Pinky Tsinyane.
“The suspects took the police to another house where another five suspects were busy reproducing the DVDs.”
Police recovered 8,000 DVDs, and three computers and 5 printers that were used for the production of the DVDs.
The group would appear in the Mamelodi Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of possession of counterfeit
goods, said Tsinyane.
