New HP ProBook notebooks launched in SA

Distributor Drive Control Corporation (DCC) has launched the latest HP ProBook notebook series: the 6555b, 6550b and 6450b.

The HP ProBook 6555b Notebook PC replaces the 6545b model and is described as a business grade notebook by DCC. It features an AMD triple core processor for power and comes standard with 4 Gigabytes (GB) of memory, says the distributor.

Deon Botha, HP PSG product specialist says, “What is significant about this notebook is that it features a serial port, FireWire, display port and docking interfaces, making it ideal for not only business users with external displays but technical departments that need to interface with IT equipment. This notebook is also suited to Government and is a standard SITA product.”

The ProBook 6555b weights in at 2.5kg’s as opposed to its predecessor, the 6545b that weighs 2.7kgs.

Next on the list of new HP ProBook notebooks is the HP ProBook 6550b notebook, replacing the HP ProBook 6540b. The device is almost exactly the same as the HP ProBook 6555b but features the new generation of Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors.

Says Botha: “What makes the HP ProBook 6550b an amazing business tool is that certain models include integrated 3G which is becoming a must have in today’s fast paced business environment.”

Replacing the HP ProBook 6440b, the HP ProBook 6450b has a 14 inch screen that features the same screen resolution as its larger counterparts and weighs 2.26kg’s. The HP ProBook 6450b also includes new generation Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processors and DDR3 RAM.

According to DCC the notebooks will sell between R11 000 and R13 800 depending on the build and are immediately available from registered resellers.
