Intel unveils Atom Processor E3900 Series
Intel has unveiled the Atom Processor E3900 Series, which moves computing power nearer to the sensor, alleviating the need to push all processing to a data centre.
The number of connected machines to the Internet of Things is expected to dramatically increase in the next four years, with 50 billion devices creating 44 zettabytes (44 trillion gigabytes) of data annually.
This will require more processing power, said Intel.
To support these experiences, Intel’s new Atom Processor E3900 Series is designed to support the rapid development and the growing complexity of IoT businesses.

Intel also announced details of its Atom processor for automotive applications.
The A3900 series is designed to power a new generation of in-vehicle experiences.
The automotive series will enable a software-defined cockpit solution that includes in-vehicle infotainment, digital instrument clusters, and advanced driver assistance systems – all in the SoC.
The A3900 series is currently sampling with customers and will be available in Q1 2017.
