Asus launches Raspberry Pi 3 competitor

Asus has launched a competitor to the Raspberry Pi 3 – the Asus Tinker Board – which is on sale for £55.

According to reports and published presentations, the Tinker Board is “almost 2-times faster” than the Raspberry Pi 3 in benchmark testing.

The Tinker Board features a quad-core 1.8GHz ARM Cortex-A17 CPU, 2GB of RAM, Gigabit LAN and Bluetooth 4.0, and four USB 2.0 ports.

A power supply (5V/2A Micro USB) is not included with the device.

Asus said the Tinker Board has support for 4K resolution, higher SoC performance than the Pi 3, and flexibility for the memory size.
