The printer is said to include the MicroPiezo Thin Film Piezo (TFP) printhead, which is optimised for pigment-based ink technology.
The eight-colour ink set used in the Epson Stylus Pro 11880 features a formulation of Epson’s UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta, aiming to provide more accurate and realistic colour matching, and each cartridge contains 700ml.
Integrated Gigabit Ethernet is claimed to deliver fast processing speeds over a network, while the Epson Super Halftone technology is designed to improve image tone and definition and make photographs more realistic.
According to Hans Dummer, regional manager for Epson Southern Africa, the MicroPiezo TFP print head fulfills all the requirements of a professional printer – quality, durability and speed.
"The nozzle density has been increased from 180 to 360 dots per inch (dpi)," Dummer says.
