Popcorn Time, which allowed users to stream unauthorized copies of films and TV shows, announced it had shutdown towards the end of October.
Popcorn Time developer “Wally” said he had shutdown the fork’s servers, following an exodus of developers at Popcorn Time over fears of legal action.
TorrentFreak has reported that the service is now making a comeback, with one of the original developers aiming to bring it back.
“Faced with an abrupt ending, several Popcorn Time users were keen to revive the defunct application. The effort has been a success, with a fully-working fix now circulating on Reddit,” said the report.
The revived version uses new APIs, and Wally told TorrentFreak he could revive Popcorn Time to its “full glory”.
“I am still considering a full comeback, I just do not want to release a half-working version,” said Wally.
