Google testing new design for its search engine
Google has started testing its new Material Design layout for desktop search results, according to a report by Engadget.
The design was introduced at its annual I/O conference in 2014, and promised a “grid-based look” across Android, Chrome OS, and the web.
Images of the new design are posted below, taken from Reddit and Twitter users who have seen the grid-style layout.
The design is similar to Google’s current layout, but with a background colour change to light grey and search results given individual boxes.
Icon changes are also present in the new design, along with changes to the information modules.
