Big problem with Apple Music being fixed
Apple is fixing a lingering problem with its music matching service built into Apple Music, TechCrunch reported.
According to the report, Apple is switching to audio fingerprinting for matching songs in your collection to what is available in the iTunes library.
This is part of a feature that lets you stream songs you already have in your music collection from Apple’s iCloud. Previously, it used poorer matching technology, stated the report.
It also applied digital rights management to matched tracks that you downloaded from iCloud.
If you deleted a track from your PC and downloaded it again from Apple, it would be copyright protected.
With the change, this will no longer be the case.
The Loop reported that Apple Music subscribers are being switched over to the improved matching system at a rate of 1% to 2% per day.
