Goodbye Google Instant Search
Google is dropping its Instant Search feature which was launched in 2010 to provide users with a quicker way to find what they are looking for.
As you type your search, Google Instant predicts what you’re looking for and shows results for your search.
“If you don’t see the results you want, keep typing and the results will update,” said Google.
The possible searches that you see are based on what other people are searching for and the content of web pages indexed by Google.
Google is now ditching the feature, as it does not provide the same experience on mobile.
A Google spokesperson said that since 2010, more searches happen on mobile, with different input and interaction and screen constraints.
“With this in mind, we have decided to remove Google Instant, so we can focus on ways to make Search even faster and more fluid on all devices,” it said.
