Google Play Music All Access announced
Google’s take on a subscription music service, which it calls Google Play Music All Access, was launched in the US today (15 May 2013) at a monthly price of $9.99.
Play Music All Access will roll out to additional countries “soon”, according to engineering director for Android at Google, Chris Yerga, who was speaking at Google I/O.
According to Yerga, the All Access service runs on the existing music library in Google Play.
Yerga showed off the “Explore” screen of the service, which makes personalised recommendations of music you should listen to based on information such as your listening history and existing collection.
The service has a 30-day free trial, and along with the announcement of the product, Yerga said that users who start a free trial before 30 June 2013 will get a reduced fee of $7.99.
