New MTN website plagued with bugs, say users

MTN new website tag loading bug

MTN recently revamped the design of its website, reports from users suggest, with subscribers complaining about newly introduced bugs since Thursday, 5 September 2013.

“MTN website has a makeover it seems. Only thing is the [redacted] killed all the existing links so now when you do a web search for something, the indexed pages just result in 404 errors,” a MyBroadband forum member remarked.

One user said that these “not found” errors have impacted their ability to check their account and bundle balances. “Since they changed the website the link on my router to check the data balance gives a 404 NOT FOUND. EISH!”

Navigating to mtn.co.za also results in a redirect loop error, users have commented.

Another user detailed their unsuccessful attempt to register for an account to use the website.

“So I got an SMS to register on MTN’s ‘new’ website. I did. Confirmed the link etc. But, when I try to log in, nothing happens,” the user posted on the MyBroadband forum.

“So I tried to send a complaint via their website and the email a complaint thing has a maximum length of two sentences,” they added. “Argh! Catch a wake up, MTN”.

MTN did not answer questions about their new website’s problems by the time of publication.
