Tesla Model X pricing announced
Tesla’s Model X is now on sale to the public, with an entry-level vehicle priced at $80,000 (±R1.125 million).
Autoblog reported that Model X buyers can choose from three Model X versions: 70D, 90D, and P90D.
Extras in the Model X include six or seven seats ($3,000 and $4,000 respectively), Autopilot ($2,500), air suspension ($2,500), premium sound system ($2,500), and a subzero weather package ($1,000).
Tesla’s usual technology will be packed into the Model X, which features automatic emergency braking and active safety sensors designed to help the car detect and avoid hazards.
An air filtration system in the vehicle provides air cleanliness on par with that of a hospital operating room, said Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
Falcon-wing doors are a standout design feature on the car, which are claimed to make entry and exit from the vehicle easier for its occupants.
The P90D version of the SUV packs 568kW (762hp), which propels it from 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds. It also boasts a range of 400km before needing a charge.
The estimated delivery date for reservations of the Tesla Model X is the latter half of 2016.
