SpaceX prepares to launch its first used rocket
SpaceX is a days away from conducting its first launch of a used Falcon 9 rocket.
The Falcon 9 first stage is the first booster which the space company managed to successfully land on an ocean barge, following the delivery of its payload into space.
SpaceX is set to launch the Falcon 9 rocket on 30 March, and the booster will transport an SES-10 communications satellite into geostationary orbit.
If the mission is successful, SpaceX will have made a major step towards its aim of reusing rockets and saving a large portion of the costs involved in launching a payload into orbit.
The Falcon 9 launch will mark the first time anyone has launched a used rocket into orbit.
