Serious iPhone security vulnerability – update now
Apple has released iOS 9.3.5, an urgent iPhone and iPad software update which includes a patch for a serious security vulnerability.
The patch comes after Citizen Lab and Lookout Security reported that zero-day bugs in iOS were being used to spy on political dissidents and journalists in the UAE.
Malware exploiting the flaws can track your phone, read text messages and emails, record sounds, collect passwords, and gather information about your contacts.
The Verge reported that Apple confirmed those testing iOS 10 are not at risk.
“The exploits are addressed in the latest iOS 10 seed,” Apple told The Verge.
