WhatsApp Web gets iPhone support

Whatsapp

WhatsApp has added iOS platform support to its web client, TechCrunch reported.

This means that iPhone users can now link their WhatsApp account to the web app, and send and receive messages from their browser.

TechCrunch said that iOS is already listed as a supported platform on the WhatsApp website, but the feature is still gradually rolling out to iPhone users in the app’s latest update.

WhatsApp launched its web client in January with initial support for Chrome and Android.

“Our web client is simply an extension of your phone: the web browser mirrors conversations and messages from your mobile device – this means all of your messages still live on your phone,” said WhatsApp.

More smartphone platforms and browsers were added over time, but WhatsApp initially warned iPhone users not to hold their breath.

But with its latest update, iOS users can now look forward to WhatsApp Web support from their iPhones.
