Samsung Galaxy Note 3 press shot

Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone at IFA in Berlin, confirming many of the specifications that leaked ahead of the big reveal.

Samsung said that the Galaxy Note 3 will launch from 25 September 2013.

As rumoured, the device will have a 5.7-inch (or 5.68 before rounding, Samsung said) full HD display.

It will also run the latest available version of Google’s mobile operating system, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

While it was rumoured that the Galaxy Note 3 would support LTE Advanced, Samsung announced that the device supports Category 4 LTE, and will work on any network in the world.

The press release that accompanied the announcement of the device revealed that as with the Galaxy S4, the Note 3 will have a 3G-only and LTE model.

The 3G model boasts an Octa core processor, while the LTE model will have a quad-core processor.
