Mozilla released Firefox 40 for Windows, Mac, Android, and Linux on 11 August, which offers Windows 10 support and better malware protection.
The enhanced malware protection comes on the back of new developments in Google’s Safe Browsing service.
“We are now able to identify malware downloads in all of our supported platforms as well as warn users about potentially unwanted software,” said Mozilla.
Firefox 40 issues a warning if you visit a page known to contain deceptive software that can make undesirable changes to your computer.
The latest Firefox browser adds suggested tiles in the new tab page, and a new add-on manager style.
The browser has improved scrolling, graphics, and video playback performance, and has enhanced its graphic blocklist mechanism.
