Linux 4.3 kernel is out
The Linux 4.3 kernel is out, offering Intel Skylake support and better Nvidia open-source graphics support.
Phoronix said there is also support for VMware OpenGL 3.3 guest VMs, and there are SMP scheduler improvements.
Linus Torvalds, the creator of the Linux kernel, said: “On the whole, this remains a rather calm release cycle until the very end”.
He said that with the release of 4.3, the merge window for 4.4 is open. “Let’s keep our fingers crossed that that will be an equally calm release.”
