WordPress powers 25% of all websites

W3Techs has released new data which shows that 25% of all websites use WordPress as a content management system.

W3Techs said 57.4% of the websites which they monitored use none of the well-known content management systems.

“WordPress is used by 25% of all the websites – that is a content management system market share of 58.7%,” the company said.

The second most popular CMS is Joomla at 2.8%, followed by Drupal on 2.1%, and Magento on 1.2%.

The statistics are based on monitoring the top 10 million websites in the world, using website popularity rankings provided by Alexa.
