Google Maps now warns drivers about traffic jams
Google Maps now warns motorists about traffic jams and travel delays, including spoken alerts about upcoming congestion and traffic conditions.
Google South Africa said the new traffic alerts will give users a spoken alert about upcoming traffic conditions when they enter their destination.
“While you’re on the road, Google Maps will give you a heads up if congestion lies ahead, and how long you’ll be stuck in a jam,” said Google.
“You’ll also get the option to take alternative routes, including explanations for why one is recommended – whether it’s the fastest or just avoids traffic.”
