Internet Explorer is no longer king
Google Chrome has beaten Internet Explorer to claim top spot in NetMarketShare’s Internet browser popularity rankings for April 2016.
Chrome earned 41.71% of the desktop browser share for the past month, followed by Internet Explorer on 41.33%.
Firefox came in third with 10.06%, followed by Safari on 4.47% and Opera on 2.01%.
NetMarketShare’s data showed that Chrome has grown its user base since the beginning of 2016, moving up from 35.05% of international browser market share to its April figure of 41.71%.
Internet Explorer showed a decline during the same period, dropping from 46.90% to 41.33% since January.
