Windows 7 gets new Service Pack

Windows 7 Home Premium

Microsoft has launched a new convenience rollup for Windows 7 Service Pack 1 which packages the latest updates and app versions.

The package contains all suitable security and non-security fixes released since Windows 7 SP1 through to April 2016.

“Since this update can be injected into Windows 7 SP1 media, it’s fully supported to mount a Windows 7 SP1 image (WIM file), then inject this update into it,” said Microsoft.

The convenience update is optional. Microsoft said it doesn’t have to be installed, and won’t be offered via Windows Update.
