Mary Meeker’s 2016 Internet Trends report has been released, which shows that Google’s Android is far ahead of Apple’s iOS when it comes to smartphone shipments.
As shown in the graphs below, iOS had a 14% share of smartphones shipped in 2009, compared to Android’s 4%.
Fast forward to 2015, and iOS moved up to 16%, while Android reached 81% of global smartphone shipments.
The report also showed that smartphone sales growth has been on a downward path since 2010.
While it is estimated that Android will see a 7% year-on-year growth in 2016, iOS is set to face a 11% decline for the year.
