Twitter killing Vine apps

Twitter’s Vine team has announced it will discontinue the service’s mobile apps “in the coming months”.

News that Twitter will kill Vine comes after it announced it will fire 9% of its global staff – around 350 people.

“Nothing is happening to the apps, website, or your Vines today. We value you, your Vines, and are going to do this the right way,” said the company.

“You’ll be able to access and download your Vines. We’ll be keeping the website online.”

Twitter said its Vine users will be notified before its makes any changes to the app or website.

“We’ll be sharing more details on our Twitter account, and will notify you through the app when we start to change things.”
