Google Chrome hits 2 billion active installs
There are now 2 billion Google Chrome installations in active use across desktop and mobile, according to a report by TechCrunch.
Google made the announcement at its Chrome Dev Summit this week.
The company did not detail how many active users the Internet browsers has, though, with the last report in April putting the number at 1 billion.
“What’s exciting about this is that when you think about building for the web, there are a lot of browsers out there that implement the latest web standards – that implement the latest and greatest web features,” said Google.
The report stated that Google now has seven products with more than a billion users: Gmail, Android, Chrome, Maps, Search, YouTube, and the Google Play store.
