Google Assistant rolling out to Android 6.0 and 7.0

Google Assistant is rolling out to Android 7.0 Nougat and Android 6.0 Marshmallow devices with Google Play Services.

Google Assistant is an intelligent personal assistant developed by Google and announced at Google I/O in May 2016.

The service is an extension of Google Now and OK Google, where voice commands are used to get information or execute tasks.

Google Assistant is available on Google Home, Google Allo, Android Wear, and Android smartphones, and is expected to roll out to Android TV soon.

To start Google Assistant, Android users must touch and hold the Home button.
