More Internet users on Android than on Windows
Android has overtaken Windows to become the most used operating system in the world in terms of Internet use, according to StatCounter.
According to March 2017 figures, Android represented 37.93% of Internet activity. Windows was a close second on 37.91%, with iOS in third with 13.09%.
The map provided by StatCounter, posted below, shows that Android dominates in high-population countries China and India, along with many countries in Southeast Asia and Africa – including South Africa.
The other operating systems making up the ranking include OS X and Linux.
